Meet the Staff

Forester: Thomas Wyse

Interactions between people and the land made the woods we have today and will create the woods we walk in tomorrow. Working with people and forests to make ecologically and economically responsible forest management decisions brings challenges, rewards and insights. I’ve worked as a full time professional forester since 2004, and I’m a member of the Forest Stewards Guild. I have a B.S. in Forestry from Michigan Tech and an M.S. in Natural Resources from Ohio State. I look forward to working with you to create tomorrow’s forest..

Forester: Allissa Corrow

Originally from the central MN oak woodlands, I came to the Driftless after working as a forester and wildland firefighter in the Midwest, Rocky Mountains, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. I have a BS in Biology/ Ecology from Western Washington University and an MS in Forest Management from the University of Montana. For me, forestry is so much more than just trees. It’s a blend of science and art, theory and application, research and observation, and creative vision. It’s an exciting and dynamic, and it keeps me on my toes.

Education Coordinator: Jackie Yocum

I joined KWC as Education Coordinator in January of 2015.  I was born and raised in the Kickapoo Valley.  In my free time I enjoy hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, and just being outdoors. My true passion is trail building. I hold a master trail builder certificate and am working through the extensive application process for membership to the PTBA (Professional Trail Builders Association). I have worked at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve since 2009.  In the summer months, you will find me on the trails of the KVR, building and maintaining them. I truly love what I do! In the winter months, I am at the front desk at the KVR and am a member of support staff for the Education and Events Coordinators there.

I am passionate about conservation, especially in the Driftless Region and very excited to share in the education and promotion of stewardship of our lands and waters. I encourage you to contact me with any questions, thoughts or education programming ideas.  See you in the woods!
