What kind of tree is this?

The sun had set behind broken clouds when I took this picture. The snowy limbs give this hillside a fresh look. The texture of the crowns is what captured my attention.

The first image is a red oak. I noticed some beautiful snow covered bur oak on my way home, one of my favorite trees. They look much different than the red oak, and I wish I had stopped so you could see the difference.
